Sliding Glass Patio Door Replacement with Structural Rot Repair
All Dwelling Solutions completed the replacement of a standard 60" × 80" sliding glass patio door located at the back patio of this home. The existing patio door was carefully removed and replaced with a new ProVia Endure sliding patio door, providing the homeowner with smoother operation, improved weather protection, greater energy efficiency, and a clean, updated appearance.
After removing the existing patio door, our installation team discovered visible structural wood rot beneath the door opening. Following our “Replace, Don’t Hide” policy, the damaged materials were not covered with filler or concealed behind the new door. We removed and disposed of the visibly rotted subfloor and affected structural wood components. New exterior-grade plywood was installed, and the framing beneath the patio door was reinforced as required to create proper structural support for the new installation. After completing the repairs, the opening was prepared, insulated, flashed, waterproofed, and sealed before the patio door installation continued.
The new ProVia patio door was professionally positioned, secured, insulated, flashed, and sealed to help prevent drafts, moisture intrusion, and energy loss. We adjusted the sliding panels, screen, handles, and locking system to ensure smooth movement and proper operation. Interior and exterior finishing work was completed to create a clean transition between the new door, the existing siding, and the interior living space.
This sliding glass door replacement provides convenient access to the outdoor deck while allowing more natural light into the home. The white frame also complements the home’s existing exterior and interior finishes.
