This custom pet door installation project involved replacing an outdated pet door located in the exterior kitchen wall of the customer’s home. 

The original wall opening was significantly larger than the dimensions of the currently available replacement pet doors, so a standard installation was not possible. After carefully inspecting and measuring the existing opening, All Dwelling Solutions ordered the closest available pet door size and developed a customized installation solution.

Our team removed the old pet door and modified the oversized wall opening to accommodate the new unit. We installed additional framing and structural reinforcement where needed to create a strong, properly sized opening. Custom interior and exterior trim was then fabricated and installed around the new pet door to cover the remaining space and provide a clean, professionally finished appearance.

To improve comfort and protect the home, we installed insulation around the modified opening and thoroughly sealed all joints, gaps, and penetrations. Weatherproofing materials and exterior-grade caulk were applied to help prevent drafts, moisture, and water infiltration. Minor wall and trim touch-ups were also completed to ensure the new installation blended naturally with the surrounding kitchen wall and exterior siding.

The finished pet door is level, secure, easy to operate, and properly protected against outdoor weather conditions. This project demonstrates how All Dwelling Solutions can customize an existing wall opening when a direct pet door replacement is unavailable.
