All Dwelling Solutions completed a [smart pet door installation ](https://www.allds.com/services/pet-door-installation)in the French door glass for a homeowner in Rockville, Maryland. The client wanted their pet to have safe, easy access to the backyard through the back basement door, without cutting into or replacing the door itself. Our team replaced the existing glass with a custom-made, tempered Low-E insulated glass unit, built specifically to hold a pet door.

Then we installed the [High Tech Pet Power Pet PXR-L](https://www.hitecpet.com/products/large-wifi-controlled-power-pet-roll-up-door), a large, Wi-Fi-enabled, app-controlled roll-up pet door.

Because tempered glass can’t be cut after it’s made, every pet door in glass has to be ordered to the exact size of the door opening. We measured the opening precisely and ordered a custom glass unit. We then sealed it with professional-grade glazing for an airtight, energy-efficient finish. The result is a clean, factory-like look and plenty of natural light. The homeowner now has a smart pet door they can lock, unlock, and schedule right from their phone.
